- Babu Akula pioneered Telugu Radio in 3ZZZ (2002) and started the Telugu Section (Dec 2005) in the Monthly English Magazine- Beyond India for Melbourne Telugu community. Due to his voluntary service to the community, he was appointed Justice of the Peace in Victoria. To name a few, Babu was Formerly Vice-President of Hindu Society of Victoria Inc. General Secretary of Federation of Indian Associations Victoria. Founding member and treasurer of Australian Indian Innovations Inc. Director of Logistics & Venue -Commonwealth Games Closing ceremony (India segment rehearsals)........... Organised several Events with a large turn out of people …... many big Indian events in Melbourne …………… Holi at the Temple, Diwali at Sandown Race Course, Diwali at Federation Square, India Day at Federation Square...........
